Responses to long-term irregular staying migrants: practices and challenges in the EU and Norway

This study aims to provide an overview of existing policies and practices in the EU Member States and Norway towards third-country nationals in a prolonged situation of irregular stay. The overall focus is on those third-country nationals subject to a return decision but whose return was not enforced or was postponed, and those without a return decision who are unknown to the authorities.
HOW DO EU MEMBER STATES TREAT CASES OF MISSING UNACCOMPANIED MINORS?

The purpose of this inform is to map how the cases of unaccompanied children going missing are being treated in the Member States, and how data on missing children is collected.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON VOLUNTARY AND FORCED RETURN PROCEDURES AND POLICY RESPONSES

This Inform reports on voluntary and forced return procedures and policy responses in EU and OECD Member States between March and September 2020. As was the case in other areas of migration, COVID-19 measures particularly affected the implementation of return procedures since many migrants who had no legal basis to remain were only able to return to their country of origin if travel was permitted and flights were available.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN EU AND OECD MEMBER STATES

This Inform provides information on the impact of COVID-19 on international students in EU and OECD countries, between February and June 2020. It covers both the admission of new international students who are not yet residing in EU and OECD countries, as well as the situation of those already physically present.
MAINTAINING LABOUR MIGRATION IN ESSENTIAL SECTORS IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

This Inform reports on measures implemented at a national level, between March and July 2020, until August 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 crisis to facilitate the entry in the territory and access to the labour market of migrant workers in essential occupations/sectors, with a special focus on the agricultural sector. Moreover, the Inform reviews cases where undocumented third-country nationals in the EU have been offered a possibility to regularise their status for employment specifically in essential sectors
